As much as 71 fake social media accounts of Pakistan politicians have been closed.
Based on the Ministry of IT and PTA document available, sixty-four accounts were removed from Twitter, while remaining 7 were on Facebook.
The ministry of information had formed a ‘cyber wing’. Its job is to report fake accounts of parliamentarians.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and Information Technology ministry also shared their helplessness in tackling fake social accounts. They said that while these social media platforms react promptly to the users, they take months to react to government organizations.
