Change in climate conditions leads to health threats

The change in climate conditions particularly the variation in temperature between day and night along with careless attitude may cause certain health threats especially infections while offering rise to complications among chronic patients which includes those who are afflicted with cardiac problems, diabetes and hypertension or are living with immunodeficiency.

Several viral infection have already begun hitting population in this area of the country and the allied hospitals in town including Holy Family Hospital.

Viral infections are reaching population in the location but these can be eliminated by following simple precautionary activities particularly by taking safe drinking water and pure food, said Head of Department of Infectious Diseases at HFH Dr. Muhammad Mujeeeb Khan.

Mentioning the trend of health threats observed in last few years by the population in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, he said individuals may deal with greater threat of gastroenteritis in the upcoming weeks.

It is essential that every year, the public field hospitals register trend of moving of infections from respiratory tract ailments to gastrointestinal difficulties along with water and food borne infections before the advent of summer.
